Reverend John Richard Goodrum, 83, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 in a local hospital. He was born on February 11, 1939 in Atlanta, Georgia to John Cecil and Dorothy Elise (Bobo) Goodrum; He was a graduate of Ouachita Baptist College. He was a pastor and did missionary work for over 65 years. He served at Roseville Baptist Church and for 42 years at Bloomer Baptist Church.
Funeral services are 11:00AM, Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Temple Baptist Church with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior at the church.
He is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Loyce Goodrum; a daughter, Brenda Little (Danny) of Fort Smith; two sons, John (Sherry) Goodrum of Fort Smith and Steve (Julie) Goodrum of Denver, CO. He was the proud granddad of Jessica Little Yasin (Hosifa), Quinn Little, Breanne Goodrum Smith (Caleb), Amy Goodrum, Carlee Goodrum, Emma Goodrum and Abby Goodrum and the great granddad of Lily Yasin and Astrid Smith.
