Obituary for Peggy Bigham (Smith)

Peggy Dilday Bigham, 85, of Fort Smith, Arkansas was born at home in Gourdneck, Arkansas. She left this world and ran to her Father’s arms on November 17, 2022. Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a charter member of Valley View Church of Christ in Jonesboro.
Peggy loved to sing in harmony, especially Gospel music, and proudly professed to be a follower of Jesus Christ. She was the happiest when surrounded by her loved ones. In addition to her family, she adored her extended family at Memory Lane, who took such good care of her and loved her dearly.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Bynum and Esther Smith, husbands Bill Dilday and Don Bigham, and brother Billy Wayne Smith. She is survived by daughter Tara Zipp and husband Bill, son Bart Dilday and wife Faye; grandchildren Audra Wood and husband Tommy, Erin Dickinson and husband Alan, Joshua Dilday and wife Danielle, and Elijah Dilday; great-grandchildren Lucas, Brett, Ella, Drew, Seth, Maci, Calem and Aviyah. They will all miss their “Mimi.” Peggy is also survived by her beloved siblings Dorothy “Dot” Jackson and husband Jay, Janice Pollard, Phyllis Evins, and Michael Smith, along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved.
A memorial service will be held at Valley View Church of Christ at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 26th. Peggy’s former minister and dear friend David Gibson will officiate. The family has requested that memorial gifts be sent to Children’s Homes, Inc., 5515 Walcott Rd, Paragould, AR. 72450.
