Obituary for Mary Lois Johns
Mary Lois Johns, 85, of Van Buren passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at a local nursing home. She was a food service manager for the Van Buren School System for 28 ½ years and attended Butterfield Assembly of God in Van Buren. She was born June 27, 1937 in Van Buren to the late Truman Willard and Jessie Rose (Reece) Anderson. Mary was also preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Edward Johns and a brother, Larry Anderson.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Ocker Memorial Chapel with interment at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. The family will visit with friends at 10:00 AM, 1 hour prior to the service at Ocker Memorial Chapel, 700 Jefferson St., Van Buren, AR.
Survivors include a daughter, Judy Deffenbaugh and husband Mike of Van Buren; a son, David Johns and wife Deanna of Alma; a sister, Linda Hinkston of Muldrow; brothers, Robert Anderson and Wayne Anderson both of Muldrow; grandchildren, Mark Deffenbaugh and wife Amber and Jordan Simpson and husband Elliott and great grandchildren, Michael, Joshua and Taylor Deffenbaugh.
