Obituary for Lois LaVerne Hobbs (Reeves)

Lois LaVerne Hobbs, 90, of Van Buren, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 in her home. She was born March 12, 1932 in Okmulgee, OK to the late Joe and Edna Reeves.

Lois was a Christian of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the Crawford County Genealogy Society and the Crawford County Friends of Genealogy. Lois was also a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and the Van Buren Senior Citizens center. She was also a past member of the Cedarville Senior Citizens Center. She was a former employee of Methodist Nursing Home and New Haven Nursing Home. Lois retired as a private care giver. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Hobbs; two brothers, Alvin Reeves and Prentice Reeves; a sister, Arzella Rodgers and a grandson, Robert Fleming.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Coffey of Shawnee, OK and Dena (Jim) Rego of Fort Smith, AR; four grandchildren, Crystal Fleming of Oklahoma City, OK, Justin McLamb of Raleigh, NC, Alaric Cole of Belize and Michelle Neloms Gay of Enid, OK; two great granddaughters and one brother, Marvin Reeves of Wichita, KS.

Chapel service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial at Morrison Cemetery in Hobbtown Community under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
