Katherine Mae Slavens Zarate, 71, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on February 21, 2022 in a local hospital. She was born on April 4, 1950 in Wallace, Idaho to John Pete and Ellen Jo (Harrison) Kanna. Katherine worked in fast food restaurant management and was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Slavens.
Memorial service is 3:00 pm, Friday, February 25, 2022 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
She is survived by two daughters La Tonya Loredo (Fabian) of Van Buren, AR and Tammy Long of Choctaw, OK; a son, Arliss Slavens (Kimberly) of Fort Smith, AR; three sisters, June Lance and Linda Davis both of Mena, AR and Drusilla Atchley of Greenwood, AR; two grandchildren, Savannah and Garrett Long of Choctaw, OK and her former husband, Thomas Slavens of Fort Smith.
Services and cremation are under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
