Joyce Charlene Jones, 76, of Alma passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022 at a local hospital. She was retired from Dixie Cup in Fort Smith and a member of Independence Freewill Baptist Church in Natural Dam. Joyce was born November 22, 1946 in Crawford County to the late Richard and Betty Jo (Beals) Rankin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Coomer; brothers, Ricky and Glenn Rankin and a great granddaughter, Braylyn Taber.

Funeral service will be 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Ocker Memorial Chapel with interment at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Survivors include her husband, Don Jones of the home; daughters, Tammy Howard and husband Joe of Van Buren, Charlotte Jones and husband William of Van Buren and Carolyn McSpadden and husband Mark of Poteau; sons, Mark Shibley and wife Cindy of Van Buren and Allen Jones of Kibler; sisters, Patricia Workman and husband Jeff of Cedarville, Cathy Walker and husband Rick of Van Buren, Diane Reason and husband Wade of Rudy and Nancy Cooper and husband Charles of Catcher; brothers, Calvin Rankin and wife Glenda of Rudy, Wayne Rankin and wife Karen of Barling and Kenny Rankin and wife Marlene of Van Buren; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and her dog, Lucy.

Pallbearers will be William Jones, Mark Shibley, Mark McSpadden, Matthew Taber, Bruce Jones and Joe Howard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin Rankin, Wayne Rankin, Kenny Rankin, Jeff Workman, Rick Walker and Wade Reason.

The family will visit with friends from 4:00-6:00 PM Monday, January 2, 2023 at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson St. Van Buren, AR.
