Johnny Ray Dowty, 80 of Van Buren passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022 in Van Buren. He worked for the Arkansas State Highway Department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Ross) Dowty; one daughter, Carolyn Tuck; one son, Harvey Dowty; one sister, Wanda New; one brother, Don Jenkson.
Funeral service will be at 2 PM Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home Van Buren. Family visitation will be Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
He is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Lee of Van Buren; four sisters, Edith Case Dowty of Columbia, MS, Betty Jean Parker of Camden, AR, Flora Mae Parker of Camden, AR, Dorse Woodward of Horatio, AR; half brother, Fred Roberts of Benton, AR; two grandchildren, Nathan Arant of Perugold, AR and Gregory Hendeling of Alma.
