Obituary for Joe Thomas Lloyd Jr.
Joe Thomas Lloyd, Jr. 77 of Van Buren passed away Friday, November 25, 2022 in a local hospital after a long battle with COPD. He retired from Rheem Manufacturing in Fort Smith in 2001. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving in the Vietnam War and was a member of Heritage Church in Van Buren. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe Thomas Sr. and Zera Lettie (Youngblood) Lloyd and a brother Bobby Joe Lloyd.
A Celebration of Life will be 10AM, Tuesday November 29, 2022 at Heritage Church in Van Buren with Pastor Wes Hilliard officiating with a private family burial to follow under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Trecia Lloyd of the home; one daughter Jennifer Lloyd Hardcastle and husband Kevin of Rudy and one son Joe Thomas Lloyd III and wife Michelle of Fayetteville; four granddaughters Jordan Rogers and husband Chris, Brooklyn Tankersley and husband Westin, Katelyn Hogan and husband Hunter and Kade Lloyd; one great grandson Jude Rogers and expecting two more in December.
Joe deeply loved his family and genealogy. He had a heart for adventure and he and Trecia traveled the world together after retirement. He enjoyed time on his beloved deck and feeding the birds. His wisdom and humor will be missed.
Family will visit with relatives and friends Monday, November 28, 2022 from 4-6PM at Ocker Funeral Home Van Buren, 700 Jefferson Street.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Hogan, Westin Tankersley, Chris Rogers, Thomas Greer, Monte Dean, Robert Lloyd, Jerry Oliver and Jason Harris.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Greer, Ron Hageman and his Rheem friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Heritage Church 1604 E. Pointer Trail, Van Buren, Arkansas 72956 or Current Church 2020 Dora Road, Van Buren.
