Joann Sharum, 87, of Barling, Arkansas passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022 in Barling. She was born on December 19, 1934 in Barling, Arkansas to Joe and Gertrude (Geheb) Ebbing. She grew up working on the family farm growing lots of tomato’s and sweet potatoes. She went on to work for the Fort Smith Public Schools in the cafeteria and later worked at AOG where she retired in 1977. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Sharum and a sister, Louise Weindel and brother, Bobby Ebbing. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Barling.
Funeral Mass is 10:30AM, Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Barling under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith. The rosary will be at 10:00AM prior to the Mass.
She is survived by her daughter, Marianne Sharum of the home; two sons, Donald Sharum and his wife Brenda of Fort Smith and Randy Sharum and his wife Yvonna of Charleston; four grandchildren, Amanda Coco and her husband Kip of Bentonville, Keith Sharum and his wife Ashley of Charleston, Benjamin Sharum of Eureka Springs and Claire Goswick of Van Buren; five great grandchildren, Jack Coco, Emma Coco, Gunnar Sharum, Lane Williams and Kaleb Hamby.
Pallbearers are Keith Sharum, Kaleb Hamby, Lane Williams, Kip Coco, Rick Weindel and Brian Weindel.
