Obituary for James Edward Zinnamon

James Edward Zinnamon, Sr., 85, of Fort Smith, Arkansas died peacefully while taking a nap, on January 3, 2023, in Fort Smith. He was born on June 24, 1936, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Argil L. and Doris (Cotter) Zinnamon. He was a metalsmith with Scamardo Metals in Fort Smith for over 30 years. Jim was a creative, inventive man who enjoyed working with his hands. He was able to pass on his knowledge of the business to several young men who are still using their skills today. Jim was a dedicated active member at Harvest Time Church. He and his family started attending Harvest Time in 1976. He and Lois, the love of his life, would have celebrated 64 years of marriage in February. His greatest joys were his family and spending time with them. Above all things he was a devoted follower of Christ, a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather (lovingly known as “Papa”).

He was predeceased by his parents Argil & Doris, Sister, Libby Owen and a grandson, Dustin Zinnamon.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lois; a son, Ed Zinnamon, and his wife Lisa of Oklahoma City, OK; two granddaughters, Chrisinda Gonzales and her husband, Daniel of Oklahoma City, OK and Cecilia Zinnamon-Adenya of Oklahoma City, OK; Grandson in-love, Ocen Adenya; a sister, Patricia Yochum of Kilgore, TX and five great-grandchildren, Eyan and Alexander Gonzales and Addelyn, Amalie and Ahnelle Adenya.

Funeral service is 11:30 am, Monday, January 9, 2023, at Harvest Time Church with burial with honors to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
The family will visit with friends from 2-4pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
