Jacob Daniel Stewart, age 31, left this life November 11 with his parents by his side at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas, after a brief illness of liver disease. Jacob was born on July 19, 1991, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and he was adopted at birth by Jay and Teresa Stewart who then lived in Fort Smith.
When Jacob was four, he and his parents relocated to Bentonville where Jacob grew up and attended school. In high school, he won numerous awards as a member of the Bentonville High School Forensics Team and the Bentonville Chamber Choir. Jacob also attended First Baptist Church where he was active in the 412 Youth Ministry and 412 Praise Choir, singing in multiple ensembles.
Jacob will be deeply missed by his parents Jay and Teresa as well as by all members of his family, including his maternal grandmother Syble Curd of Fort Smith and paternal grandfather John Stewart
of Barling. Jacob also leaves a hole in the hearts of numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and second cousins,
along with many friends, co-workers and his special cat named Sparkles.
Jacob was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Lee Curd, paternal grandmother Neta Stewart and cousin Jerry Sims.
Jacob touched the lives of many. His family remembers him as witty, fun and protective. He wasn’t afraid to standout and make people laugh—the ultimate jokester with a contagious laugh. He was compassionate and lovable with a precious heart that loved many. Jacob was truly one-of-a-kind.
Today, and every day, we celebrate Jacob’s life. We celebrate the 31 years we had him here with us—years that were full of life, love and happiness. And we also celebrate Jacob’s life now—perfectly made whole, walking with Jesus, debating with Peter, singing with the angels in Heaven’s Choir and laughing joyfully with his loved ones that have gone on before.
Funeral services are 1:00 pm, Friday, November 18, 2022, at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Hackett, Arkansas. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 5-7 pm.
