Obituary for Jack S. Franklin

POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER UNTIL MONDAY FEBRUARY 28, 2022

Jack S. Franklin, 87, of Fort Smith passed away on Sunday February 20, 2022 in a local hospital. He was born October 31, 1934 in Kennedy, near Wister, OK to Walter and Viola (Brooks) Franklin. Jack was a retired rancher and is an active member of Grand Ave. Baptist Church in Fort Smith. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family, especially watching his grandsons in their many activities.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kaye (Borden) Franklin; one son, Mark Franklin and his wife Kim of Eufaula, OK; two grandchildren, Tanner and Cooper Franklin; three sisters, Peggy Page of Mesa, AZ, Judy Allison of Eufaula and Sherry Franklin of Poteau; two brothers, John Franklin of Oroville, CA and Wally Franklin of Frisco, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Ramia McClour and Maxine Rhodes; his brother, Don Franklin.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Monday February 28, 2022 at Leflore Baptist Church with burial in Leflore City Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith. The family will visit with friends from 2-4 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Tanner, Cooper and Brian Franklin, Micheal Rhodes. John Allison and Harold Allison.
