Edwin Stanton Wight, 86, of Alma left this world to walk on the heavenly streets of gold on August 1, 2022 at the Van Buren Health and Rehab. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Alma and a member of the Gideon’s International. He is a veteran who served in the Navy national guard while in high school, then went on to serve four years in the Air Force. He was a medical clinic administrator for clinics in Dardanelle and Booneville, and a field representative for Blue Cross. Edwin was born June 26, 1936 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Edwin Andrew Wight of Troy, Ohio, and Ruth Barmann Wight, of Dardanelle, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sandra Lee Wight, of Alma.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years and 11 months, Pat Parker Wight, of the home, and their three sons: Randall Wight, of Arkadelphia, AR, Ron Wight of Alma, AR, and Robert Wight of Fort Smith, AR, and one son, David Wight Watkins of Tipp City, Ohio, four grandchildren Josh Watkins and wife, Sarah, of Troy, Ohio, Brandy Watkins Fisher and husband Eric of Troy, Ohio, Ryan Wight of Alma, AR, and Mason Wight of Fort Smith, AR. He also has five great grandchildren in Troy, Ohio.
Visitation will be 5:00 - 6:30 pm Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, 917 Hwy 64 E., Alma, A Funeral service will be 10:00 Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Ocker Funeral Home, with final internment at Russell Cemetery in Belleville, AR under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Gideon’s International.
Pallbearers will be Kerry Brown, Nick Spencer, Clovis Satterfield, Robert Wight, Ryan Wight and Mason Wight.
