Della Cherry Phelps Harp. 74, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on February 16, 2022 in her home. She was born on December 24, 1947 in Fort Smith to J.T. and Charlene Warren. She was a retired teacher from Van Buren School System and a former lobbyist and president of the Arkansas Education Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers George Fred Warren and his Twin Joshua Lee Warren, a sister, Ruby Chapman and her former husband, Charles Phelps.
Funeral service is 1:00 PM, Monday, February 21, 2022 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith with private burial to follow. The family will visit with friends from 1-3PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband, Farris Harp of the home; daughter, DeShonne Richmond and her husband Jim of Roland, OK; a son, Dwayne Cherry of Liberty, OK; brother, James Warren of Webbers Falls, OK; three sisters, Debbie Morgan of Warner, OK, Karen Warren-Richardson of Brighton, TN and Dottie Justice of Texas; four grandchildren, Michael Cherry and his wife Kim, Matthew Cherry and is wife Lindsey; Brandi Cherry and Jared Richmond and 2 great grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are her nephews James Sutteer and Timothy, Todd, Brian, Brody and Adam Warren.
