Charles W. “Sonny” Stroud, Jr. passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 in his home. He was a retired maintenance mechanic for the City of Fort Smith. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and a model train collector. He enjoyed Western movies and loved his dog Bolivar. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles William Sr and Opal Mildred (Smith) Stroud; two sisters; three brothers.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Morrison Cemetery in Rudy under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife Marsha D. (Montgomery) Stroud of the home; two daughters Catherine Stroud-Belt and husband Rodney of Fort Smith, Netanya Stroud and fiancé Matthew of Harlingen, Texas; two sons Charles Christopher Stroud of Van Buren, Eli Stroud and fiancée Kara of Fayetteville; one granddaughter Ainsley Stroud of Fort Smith; several nieces and nephews.

The family will visit with relatives and friends Monday, February 13, 2023 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Richard Irvin, Eron Irvin, Jeral Irvin, Jackie Irvin, Rodney Belt and Eli Stroud.

Honorary pallbearers will be the City of Fort Smith “P” Street workers and Robert Rogers.
