Obituary for Betty Tudor (Powers)

Betty Sue Powers Wood Tudor, of Scranton, AR, was born in Tifton, GA on February 7, 1936, to the late Sam and Bertha Powers. She passed away in Little Rock AR January 7th, 2023, after a short illness with loving family members by her side.

Betty moved to North Little Rock, AR in the 1960’s where she raised her children and worked for the State of Arkansas in several positions. In the 1980’s she moved to Scranton, AR on Lake Dardanelle, where she retired.

Betty was vivacious, loving and always up for an adventure. She loved to travel with her family and friends. As a gracious host, she welcomed people into her home and provided a fun and loving environment. Her love for others and her non-judgmental nature were just a couple of
reasons she was so adored by others.

Survivors include daughter Susan Wood Bennett, Chuck),sons Derrell Wood Jr. (partner Mandy), and Sam Wood (Kim). She is also survived by grandchildren Derrell III(Amanda), Jake Wood, Brooke Bennett Hutchinson (Justin), Courtney Bennett Baker (Phil), Kyle Bennett (Kira), Matthew Brossett and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Jean Barlow of Atlanta, GA and nieces.

Betty left a legacy of love - loving others without conditions or judgment. To honor Betty, the family asks that you strive to love others as she did- unconditionally and without judgment and to live life to the fullest. She was a bright light in this world to many individuals. She will be missed.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation was under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
